Let’s orienteer in Saint-Boniface, on the brand-new extended map of the area! This orienteering event will take place in Whittier park, Lagimodière/Gaboury park but also in the streets of North Saint-Boniface. Meeting location is under the canopy of the small building in front of the Fort Gibraltar (see map below). Orange and white signs will be placed to help you find the organizer.

Please pre-register for the event using this website (see "Course Registration" on the right) or by contacting the organizer (see email address at the bottom), BEFORE WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 26^th 8 AM. Pre-registration will ensure maps are available for you. We will have a limited number of compasses on site to lend. Experienced members of the association will help the beginners to familiarize with the techniques of map reading and navigation.

Event entry costs $5 and $3 for junior (less than 20 years old). Payment is to make by cash on site the day of the event. A mandatory 2018 MOA Membership is included in this price.

We offer 2 courses of different lengths (4.8 km and 2.9 km). Expect to run/walk a bit more.

Please, pay attention to other users in the parks, and in particular to car traffic when crossing roads.

Participants have a 1:30 hours time limit. Results will be followed live, and snacks and refreshments will be provided at the end of the event.

Venez participer à une course d’orientation à Saint-Boniface ! La carte vient d’être refaite et étendue. Cet événement couvrira les parcs Whittier et Lagimodière/Gaboury, mais aussi les rues au nord du boulevard Provencher. Le point de rendez-vous est près des tables du petit bâtiment en face du Fort Gibraltar (voir carte ci-dessous). Un panneau orange et blanc vous aidera à trouver le départ.

Merci de vous pré-inscrire en utilisant ce site internet (voir "Course Registration" à droite) ou en contactant l’organisatrice (voir adresse courriel plus bas), AVANT MERCREDI 26 SEPTEMBRE à 8H. La pré-inscription est importante pour vous assurer qu’une carte sera disponible pour vous. Il y aura un nombre limité de boussoles à emprunter. Des membres expérimentés de l’association aideront les débutants avec les techniques de lecture de carte et de navigation.

L’événement coûte 5$ pour les adultes et 3$ pour les jeunes de moins de 20 ans. Le paiement est à faire sur place en espèces. Une adhésion obligatoire pour 2018 au MOA est incluse dans ce prix.

Il y aura deux parcours (4,6 et 2,9 km). Attendez-vous à courir ou marcher un peu plus.

Les participants ont 1h30 pour finir leur parcours. Les résultats seront montrés en direct, et des rafraîchissements seront fournis à l’arrivée.
