The Grand Beach Spring Opener
Imagine yourself cast in flickering sunshine as you run through equally spaced pine trees. The experience is so special that your mind wonders...oh no, don’t forget you are Orienteering—Attack Point—Control—Get back on track, you know what to do!
Yes, the Grand Beach map is special. How special? A million miles away special. That’s right. You can experience a European style planted forest. In fact, it’s Manitoba’s only Orienteering map that features such.
Plus the road right to the parking area is subcompact car friendly.
There are outhouses. If it’s cool or raining there are two warming huts for taking a break and changing outfits.
Did I mention food? There will be food and drinks.
Sign up and start your season on the right foot...or left if you choose. Beat the bugs and poison ivy.
Provincial Park Pass is required. Last year‘s Manitoba Provincial Park Pass is still valid until the end of April.
Meeting Location, follow the East Gate road to the cross-country ski/hiking trailhead parking lot.
First start will be at 12 noon.
For safety reasons, all competitors must check out and back in with the organizers.
Please bring a watch, a compass, and a whistle.
