Timing Equipment Clinic & GPS Course Setting Clinic
May 28th 2017 10:00am
Organizers: Thomas Graupner (Event Director), Vern Nelson (Event Director)
Timing Equipment Clinic
This clinic will demonstrate using SportIdent timing equipment and producing event results with OE2010.
Held at Sport Manitoba, Room 7.
Recommended: If you want hands-on training with the software, please bring your own PC. A laptop with Windows XP or later should work fine.
We will use the following programs:
- SportIdent Config+, available at https://www.sportident.com/products.html#software (along with the USB driver)
- SportSoftware OE2010, available at http://www.sportsoftware.de/downloads/ (we have a Pro license which we can use on as many computers as we want)
This clinic will cover the same topics as the timing equipment clinic on March 12, 2016. Some files from that clinic are available online. Contact Thomas for the link.
GPS Course Setting Clinic
This clinic, held after the timing clinic, will demonstrate how to load an orienteering map with controls onto a handheld GPS unit. This is helpful both when checking control locations (as a final check that you are at the right location) and when course setting (when you are carrying many controls and can't focus too well on navigation).
